Speaking Of Elephants...

The only thing I love more than orphaned baby elephants is Morgan Freeman's voice. Born To Be Wild has both. This is a must-watch for elephant and Morgan Freeman lovers. Check out the Born To Be Wild trailer

Michelle Obama Rocks GAP At Olympics

Michelle Obama Looking Fabulous In GAP Top

Colorblock Crewneck Sweater ($39.95) GAP
I knew I liked this sporty top from the GAP and now it has First Lady Michelle Obama's seal of approval. She's in London for the Olympic games.

Like I always say, looking fabulous doesn't have to break the bank. I will actually wait for both a sale and a coupon (sale on sale action) for this little number.

You Do What In This Room?

I love a beautiful kitchen but have no idea what to do in one. Let's put it this way, I recently asked someone if they wanted me to make them some cereal. Check out House Beautiful's Kitchen Of The Year. It's not a bad looking place to keep all my take-out menus.

Broaching The Brooch

Sunday Retro Brooches ($38 Each) Anthro
Hover "Buggy" Brooch ($58) Anthro
A good brooch can take you far. It should always have a good backstory that has absolutely nothing to do with the truth. For example:
"This brooch was handed down to me from my Great Aunt Penelope Brittleworth. It was given to her by a Sultan when she was on safari in Sub-Saharan Africa. They were searching for evidence of the extinct Madagascan Pygmy Hippopotamus."

He's From Where?

Another Gorgeous Swedish Import

I'm torn about who to route for in the Emmy race. In the Best Supporting Actor category Aaron Paul and Giancarlo Esposito are both nominated for stellar performances in Breaking Bad, and then there's Jared Harris from Mad Men. All of them were brilliant

I am, however, surprised that Joel Kinnaman from The Killing was snubbed. It's a bit of an oversight. That's why I'm nominating him for a Fabby Award in the category, Best Swedish Import (other than Alexander Skarsgard).

Magic Markers Indeed

Scented Highlighters ($5) See Jane Work
I still love a box of new markers. These smell like Grape, Orange, Banana, Blueberry, Strawberry and Apple. I often wonder if my love for art class had anything to do with unknowingly getting high from all the glue, markers and such.

"Gather 'Round Designers"

My beloved Tim Gunn is back. I love a man with a big vocabulary. Personally speaking, it's the only size that matters to me. Season ten of Project Runway airs tonight at 9 on Lifetime

Post Snark: I spy a Tim Gunn bobblehead.

Shark Tooth Necklace ($42) Catbird

Shark Week begins August 12th, a mere 25 days away. Other than national scarf and dangly earrings day, this is my favorite time of the year.

I like it a lot." -Nick Smith

In the event you have to hunker down, it's nice to have some fun go-to movies on hand (a recent scarf-related accident has me off my feet for a while). Criterion Collection titles are 50% off at Barnes & Noble

Breaking Fab

The first time I "broke fab" I was three years old. I fashioned a pair of movie star sunglasses out of Elsie Sticks and started signing autographs.

The season premiere of Breaking Bad airs tonight at 10 on AMC. Can't wait.

Let us raise a glass or light a candle with some ridiculously long matches such as these for Bastille Day.

Vive La France!

Had I known that this is what I'd get to wear to the Olympics, maybe I would have paid more attention in P.E. class. I could have been a contender! J'adore the U.S. Olympic team outfits created by Ralph Lauren. As for the "who wear's a beret?" controversy, I'll answer that. I do.

Totes Adorbs Totes

Straw Dangle Tote

A straw tote is a summer essential. It makes you appear easy to the breezy even when on the inside you're queasy to the wheezy.

50 Shades Of Cray

Deus Ex Machina?

It goes without saying that the Real Housewives of the Orange County Reunion is going to be crazy with a capital crazy. There's even a bird attack, however I don't think the bird was attacking Andy Cohen but rather trying to get him out of the den of cray cray. Tune in tonight at 9 on Bravo for all the dramz.

Did Someone Say Pie?

Pie Bird Press Cards ($5 Each) Felt & Wireshop
These Cards Are Screaming To Be Framed.
J'adoring these hand printed letterpress cards from Pie Bird Press. I'm digging creator Hannah Berman's happy vibe. I found out about this company from the August issue of Lucky. I also discovered how to achieve an ombre lip.

Running Of The Tootsies

I really wanted to do a photo shoot of Tootsie running through the streets of Pamplona. Unfortunately, Tootsie had a meltdown in our hotel room. Here she is giving me a look which I think is the doggy equivalent of the finger.

Love Young Goethe In Love!

Two People With Incredibly Floppy Hair
Meet, Fall In Love And
It Doesn't Make Me Sick.

I usually don't love love. Too suspicious...but I fell Hard for Young Goethe In Love.
"Germany 1772 - the young and tumultuous Johann Goethe (Alexander Fehling) aspires to be a poet; but after failing his law exams, he is sent by his father (Henry Huebchen) to a sleepy provincial court to mend his ways. Unsure of his talent and eager to prove himself, Goethe soon wins the praise and friendship of his superior Kestner (Moritz Bleibtreu). But then Lotte (Miriam Stein) enters his life and nothing is the same as before. However, the young lovers are unaware that her father has already promised Lotte's hand to another man." -Music Box Films
