Ralph Lauren is the outfitter of the U.S. Olympic Team. If only I wasn't always picked last in my P.E. classes, perhaps I could have been an olympian. If nothing else, I would know how to work the outfits.

A Must-Watch For J.Crew Junkies

Jenna Lyons & Mickey Drexler Making Americans Fabulous
One Whisper Gauze Peasant Blouse At A Time

This is a FABULOUS ALERT LEVEL VIBRANT FLAME (a thinking man's Tangerine Tango). In J.Crew & the Man Who Dressed America we get a glimpse at the inner workings of J. Crew's CEO Mickey Drexler. This must-watch for J.Crew Junkies airs tonight at 10 on CNBC
"With more than 300 stores, nearly $2 billion in sales and even the First Lady as a fan, J.Crew has transformed from a once-flailing, lackluster brand to a fashion force. Leading J.Crew is CEO Millard “Mickey” Drexler, known for his intuitive sense of what the public craves and his ability to lift troubled companies to new heights. Since taking over J.Crew in 2003, Drexler has successfully introduced designer quality clothing for the masses — driving the company’s revenues up 170 percent.
From New York to Italy, anchor David Faber explores the process of conceiving, creating and marketing a new line of clothing. How will J. Crew meet the twin challenges of expansion and a rapidly changing landscape in the Internet age of retail? CNBC takes you inside this growing retailer and explains what’s made the stylish, contemporary brand a success." CNBC Online

Macy's Summer Samba

Blame it on the Bossa Nova or the Caipirinhas for my love for all things Brazilian. I couldn't be happier that Macy's is celebrating Brazilian-inspired fashion, beauty and design. Check out Macy's interactive catalog and let the carnival begin.

Notable Notes

J. Falkner Boxed Card Sets ($16.95 For Set Of Eight)

Tootsie and I are mad for these boxed cards from J. Falkner, and at $16.95 a set they won't break the bank. Part of the proceeds are donated to the Trevor Project so you can be both fabulous and charitable. Loves!

POST SNARK: The J. Falkner logo is a Tootsie dog so we're officially hooked.

House Finale

All good things must come to an end including my beloved House. Tonight we bid House adieu and I for one am wondering how I will go on without my weekly fix of Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard. The hue and cry is that it will be House, not Wilson, that shuffles off this mortal coil. Are they going to Thirtysomething* us? To find out, tune in tonight at 8 on FOX. I'm hoping they both live another day to enjoy their compelling bromance.

Post Snark: To Thirtysomething is referencing when everyone thought Nancy was going to die from ovarian cancer but it was Gary who died in an unexpected car crash. It was so cray.

Something For Momma

She Ain't Heavy, She's My Mother ($19.25) Amazon

Bryan Batt's "momoir" looks totes adorbs. It's available on Amazon or you can get a signed copy for $24 from his shop, Hazelnut.
"Gayle Batt is the kind of lady who throws elegant cocktail parties while wearing layers of silk chiffon, dripping pearls, and eight months’ pregnant. She is the kind of woman who says “anyhoo” and calls everyone “Dahlin’” or a special pet name. With hair, makeup, and nails always done to perfection, she triumphs rather than crumbles when infidelity, alcoholism, cancer, or any form of adversity attempts to shatter her family. Endearing and enduring, Gayle is a big-hearted, strong-willed true Southern belle—and she taught her son everything he knows about being a man.
In She Ain’t Heavy, She’s My Mother, Bryan Batt, the actor who plays Sal Romano on the Emmy, Golden Globe, and Peabody Award–winning Mad Men, chronicles his life—and his mother’s supportive presence in it."  -Amazon

Whit Stillman Is Back!

I am pleased to report that Whit Stillman has finally made another movie, Damsels In Distress. His absence from the film world is what's had this damsel in distress. Oh how I have missed his delightfully snobby characters, witty banter, charming soundtracks, and Chris Eigeman who isn't in the new film but the slightly derivative Adam Brody is. I need Whit Stillman's particular brand of quirk in my life. Check out the Damsels In Distress trailer.
"DAMSELS IN DISTRESS follows a trio of beautiful girls who set out to revolutionize life at a grungy East Coast College - the dynamic leader Violet Wister (Greta Gerwig), principled Rose (Megalyn Echikunwoke) and sexy Heather (Carrie MacLemore). They welcome transfer student Lily (Tipton) into their group which seeks to help severely depressed students with a program of good hygiene and musical dance numbers. The girls become romantically entangled with a series of men -- including slick Charlie (Brody), dreamboat Xavier (Hugo Becker) and the mad frat pack of Frank (Ryan Metcalf) and Thor (Billy Magnussen)--who threaten the girls' friendship and sanity." -Apple Trailers

The 411 On Andy Cohen

Most Talkative: Stories From The Front Lines Of Pop Culture ($14.85) Amazon

My very exclusive Fabulous Alert "mazel" of the day goes out to Andy Cohen. His new book, Most Talkative, dropped yesterday and I can't wait to read it. Andy's enthusiasm for all things pop culture is infectious. I just want to sit in his clubhouse, drink my lady beer and talk about all the cray cray. If my hair was long enough, I would totally work a side pony for Andy.
"From a young age, Andy Cohen knew two things: He was gay, and he loved television. Now presiding over Bravo's reality-TV empire, he started out as an overly talkative pop-culture obsessive, devoted to Charlie's Angels and All My Children—and to his mother, who received daily letters from him while he was at summer camp, usually reminding her to tape the soaps. In retrospect, it's hard to believe that everyone didn't know that Andy was gay; still, he remained in the closet until college. Finally out, he embarked on making a career out of his passion for television. The journey begins with Andy interviewing his all-time idol Susan Lucci for his college newspaper and ends with him in a job where he has a hand in creating today's celebrity icons. In the witty, no-holds-barred style of his show Watch What Happens: Live, Cohen tells tales of absurd network-news mishaps, hilarious encounters with the heroines of his youth, and the real stories behind the Real Housewives. Dishy, funny, and full of heart, Most Talkative provides a one-of-a-kind glimpse into the world of television, from a fan who grew up watching the screen and is now inside the TV, both making shows and hosting his own." -Amazon

Post Snark: If you're not watching Watch What Happens Live, you're missing out on the funnest half-hour on television.

These clothes scream vacay. I love looking like I'm on holiday even though I'm never on holiday and deeply resent people who do go on holiday, but it won't matter if I'm wearing the Sonya Strapless Patio Dress because in my mind I'll be someplace far far away.

Beach Makeover

Beach (1.75 oz. $67.50) Bobbi Brown

The next best thing to being at the beach is smelling like it. That's why Bobbi Brown's Beach is my favorite go-to summer scent and she just gave the bottle a makeover.
"It's the same scent, but with a new look - Bobbi's best-selling fragrance gets an update in a sleek bottle. Designed with a lightly intoxicating blend of sand jasmine, sea spray, and mandarin, Beach captures the atmosphere and attitude of summer." Bobbi Brown Online

Domino Is Alive!

Admittedly, I've had my head up my tookus lately but how could I have missed this one? Apparently on April 15th our dearly departed Domino magazine rose from the dead to produce a special edition called Domino Quick Fixes. According to the excited Facebookers it's available at Home Depot, Lowes and Publix. Domino has also teamed up with the fabulous One Kings Lane to host three sales. Without Domino around, I've been barely breathing. I think I just got back to sinus rhythm.
